Honestly I should be sewing the lace on my bridesmaid dress right now. Or setting the alarm on my phone to remind me to go to my eye appointment tomorrow. But as you can see...
I have found this wild little site online that makes these fake-o stamps. Hi-larious non? They would look better with a number in the left corner, but our freaking postal system can't keep stamp prices constant for more than a month.
Anyway, that large rock is where I spent my day. I asked my parents to take me up to the mountains today. My Dad wanted to go to Brainard, but we always go to Brainard. So I pulled out the topo maps + Google and tried to find something of similar altitude (Brainard is always cold, which is why my Dad likes it). Enter: Beaver Reservoir. I even checked online to see if it was open to the public. WELL IT DAMN WELL WASN'T. THE INTERNETS LIED TO ME! THEY LIED! And talk about a persnickety group. Whoever owns that darn reservoir posted No Trespassing signs every 20 feet. Freaks. So, to whoever wants to know, Beaver Reservoir just northwest out of Ward, Colorado, is a members only 'establishment'. But worry not my friends, worry not. There are far better places than that abysmal body of water. There is a wee bitty pull out on the west side of 72, exactly 1.1 miles after the Brainard road. From there, you'll find a wee bitty trail that runs along the north edge of what I believe to be St. Vrain Creek - not on any maps will you find this little hike (in fact if you find it on a map, you're looking at the wrong thing). It takes you up only a short ways, but lets out on to this wonderful little pond (and by pond I mean 'widening of the river'). Ah, I could have played there for days. It was so nice, I should have packed a swimsuit. The water was clear, the river bottom was sandy... Oh, bliss. B-L-I-S-S. Playing in water? My dream vacation. I'm trying to think of ways to get back there before jetting off to VA.
Anyway, I thought I'd blog about my cute little stamp picture.
