My new computer is finally up.
...
I think it's cursed.
1) the first motherboard we purchased was DOA - we thought is was a power problem so we bought a new power supply.
2) the second motherboard, according to the documentation, did not interface with the graphics card... the graphics card that did not exist. so we bought a new graphics card.
3) the documentation is wrong - we had a memory problem.
4) we bought new memory.
5) we get the computer to boot for the first time. david breaks the fan cover trying to put the case back together.
6) there is no documentation on how to remove the face plate to fix the cover.
7) ubuntu can't handle the amount of memory i have.
So I'm sitting here, on the floor, with Sai, grumpy that the internet sucks because all I want to do is watch some damn anime. Hagumi (my new comp) isn't very happy to be alive right now so I'm just going to let her sit for a little bit. Maybe until Hardy Heron comes out.
There's a lot to do to get a new comp up and running. Even more so when you're changing OSs. I need to move all my files, set up my tablet... learn how to set up my tablet, learn to use the gimp... I hate the gimp, learn how to use Wine to run PSP...
Anyway.
I made Yaki Soba tonight. It was pretty good. It could have been a lot better, but I'm working with ketchup and Worcestershire. I need to hit up an Asian market so I can stock up. I'm also out of May Ploy green curry paste which really sucks cuz were both addicted to Jungle Curry. I also want a yellow curry paste so I can try curry noodles. Mmmm.
Letsee... I guess I don't really have anything else to share, but I don't have anything else to DO. Does that mean I should go to bed? It's 11:42. If I don't go to bed soon I'll get hungry again and then I'll mess up my non-diet diet.
This is going to be an excessively boring post.
I read in the runners magazine that you can use your dreams to train - I thought it was a pretty cool idea but the first step is remembering your dreams. I can't really remember my dreams... I did have a dream where I had sex with Angelina Jolie. She's not very good in bed. Just a heads up.
I suppose that dream isn't going to make me a better runner...
I'm thinking of signing up for the National Triathlon. I thought it was in August, but it turns out it's in September. August is going to be hellishly busy for us. But September looks good. I don't know if I can run 10k after biking 40... it's a traditional tri so I would have to bike, then run. Tricky tricky. I'm thinking about it anyway. I'd better think fast though, their website says they're 76% booked.
Yarn.
I think I'd like to have a pet nautilus.
