Today marks one week of meditating.
Well one week plus one day... since I'm a lazy blogger...
Anyway. This will be my second go at meditation.
Several months back I gave it a week and couldn't figure out what I was spose to be doing, so I gave it up.
However, during my trip to Boulder, I came across the Shambhala Sun magazine which was doing its annual "How to Meditate" issue, which was so good even my mother went out and bought a copy.
While it doesn't answer all my questions, it's a wonderful base for getting started. And, get this, there's Shambhala Meditation Center in DC! I'm going to attend a beginners meditation class next month. Im really looking forward to it.
Weird.
Right now I'm meditation for 15 minutes a day minus Saturdays. While it's recommended you do your first meditation in the am, I'm a pm person. Period. Even if I managed to pull myself out of bed in the am, I can promise you, I can sleep and sit at the same time.
I think I'll order a meditation cushion though...
Right now I'm using a furniture dolly with a pillow on top.
It's very utilitarian....
