I love blogging when I'm not suppose to be blogging.
Things I should be doing right now:
Finishing Davids bento.
Cleaning up the kitchen.
Washing the thermos.
Not blogging.
I also like to blog in fits. I wont post for days but then I'll post, like, 8 times in a 5 minute period.
It's 11:30... I really need to get in the kitchen.
I'm reading Oracle Bones; A journey between China's past and present. I'm not really sure why, but China is my interest of choice lately (well, my educational interest anyway). I'm only on page 50 or so, but it's good. Being on page 50 I have no epic revelations to share with you on the subject of China's culture. Over Sunday diner, I admitted to David that I have never read Hitchhickers Guide. He told me I must read it at once, but I was restarting the Harry Potter series (which he told me I had just read in January, but I want to read it again). On the topic of Harry Potter, I really like re-reading books. It's very soothing. You're never really sure about a new book. It may not be any good, and since I read for pleasure, I'm not often in a gambling mood. Still, the Hitchhikers Guide came with a recommendation from David, so... it must be good, right? Well, it is. It's also really hard to read. Oh, the wordiness. I know, I know, it's part of the humor and the book would be nothing without its diction, but damn. You have to really concentrate when you read it. You can't skip any of the words (I skip words when I read, mostly because I read fluff fiction where you only need to read 75% of the words, if that). So the book is not as catching as it could be, especially since I only pick it up when I'm settling in for bed. So I finished the 2nd Harry Potter and hit the library for more books (like the next 2 Potter books). The Oracle Bones is nonfiction, but written in such a way as to be light and fiction-like thus making for a much easier read. Still, when I get all tucked in tonight I'll be picking up that Harry Potter book...
I guess I should get to that kitchen stuff, eh?
